AI Engineer

An AI Engineer is urgently required for a full-time position on a major Saudi Aramco EPC project in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and international candidates are welcome to apply. The role will focus on developing and implementing AI/ML, Generative AI, large language model and automation solutions to improve engineering, construction, project controls, document management and overall project execution. Responsibilities include designing, developing and deploying AI/ML and Generative AI solutions for EPC project applications; developing AI-powered automation for engineering and construction workflows; building and integrating large language model applications, retrieval-augmented generation systems, AI agents and intelligent document-processing solutions; developing solutions to extract, analyse and classify information from engineering documents, drawings, specifications and project records; automating repetitive project controls, reporting and document-management processes; working with project teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve productivity, accuracy and decision-making; integrating AI solutions with existing databases, APIs and enterprise applications; evaluating AI models, improving performance and ensuring reliability and scalability; and maintaining appropriate data security, access control and governance for AI applications. The requirements include at least five years of relevant AI/ML engineering experience, strong Python programming skills, hands-on experience with machine learning, deep learning and Generative AI, strong knowledge of large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation and vector databases, experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain or equivalent, experience developing and integrating AI APIs and automation solutions, and a strong understanding of data processing, natural language processing and document intelligence. Experience with cloud AI platforms is advantageous, while EPC, oil and gas or Saudi Aramco project experience is highly preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills are required, along with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience applying AI to engineering document management, technical document classification and extraction, construction progress monitoring, project controls and reporting, schedule and cost analytics, engineering knowledge management, automated reporting and workflow automation, or digital transformation of EPC projects. Proven AI implementation experience in EPC, oil and gas, engineering or large-scale industrial projects is also preferred.
