Job Description
A real estate developer based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a qualified and motivated Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works for a high-rise project in Makkah. The successful candidate will support all stages of electrical works, from design and load calculations through site execution, quality assurance and quality control, testing, and commissioning, in compliance with local standards and best practices. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing basic and detailed electrical design drawings, single-line diagrams, and layouts in accordance with project requirements and Saudi Building Codes; performing electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, voltage-drop calculations, and cable sizing; coordinating with design consultants and other disciplines to integrate electrical systems within the overall MEP framework; overseeing site execution to ensure that installations follow approved drawings, specifications, and method statements; conducting regular quality assurance and quality control inspections to verify that materials, installations, and workmanship meet the required standards and project specifications; preparing and reviewing inspection and test plans and method statements for electrical works; supervising and participating in the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including low-voltage distribution panels, lighting, small power, earthing, and extra-low-voltage systems; liaising with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regulations; preparing progress reports, snag lists, and as-built documentation; and supporting health, safety, and environmental compliance on site by ensuring that electrical safety practices are effectively implemented. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university and have at least seven years of relevant MEP experience, preferably in Saudi Arabia. Candidates must have sound knowledge of the Saudi Building Code, Saudi Electricity Company standards, and other applicable local and international codes, as well as proven experience in electrical design, load calculations, site supervision, quality assurance and quality control, testing, and commissioning. Proficiency in electrical design software, strong problem-solving and coordination skills, good communication skills in English, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team are required; Arabic language skills are an advantage. Indian nationality is preferred. Applicants who do not fully meet the stated qualifications and experience requirements may not be considered.
