Architectural Engineer
Job Description
An architectural engineer is required to develop and design architectural solutions and plans for buildings and properties while ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations. The role includes reviewing and approving construction drawings and plans, supervising the construction process to ensure adherence to design specifications, and using AutoCAD and 2D software proficiently to create and modify architectural designs, plans, and layouts. The successful candidate will prepare detailed drawings and blueprints for construction projects, collaborate with other engineers and architects to develop design concepts and solutions, prepare and estimate the quantities and costs of materials, labour, and equipment required for construction projects, review and evaluate bids from vendors and contractors, and develop comprehensive project cost estimates. Responsibilities also include estimating the total cost of construction projects, analysing project costs, recommending ways to optimise resources and minimise expenses, evaluating contractor and vendor bids based on cost, quality, and efficiency, reviewing vendor and contractor qualifications and performance history, and collaborating with other engineers and architects to develop bid specifications and evaluation criteria. A minimum of 10 years of experience is required, along with proven experience in managing and overseeing construction projects, strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
