AC Technician – Detailed Job Description Job Purpose: The primary responsibility of this position is to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and carry out repairs on air conditioning and HVAC systems. This ensures these systems operate efficiently, reliably, and safely at all times. Key Responsibilities: Carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of various air conditioning and HVAC systems. Identify and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults within AC equipment with precision. Perform both preventive maintenance routines and corrective maintenance tasks to uphold system performance. Monitor refrigerant levels carefully and detect any refrigerant leaks promptly. Clean and replace essential components such as filters, coils, and other parts as necessary to maintain system integrity. Troubleshoot issues related to compressors, motors, thermostats, control systems, and all relevant electrical components. Ensure that all AC systems function efficiently while strictly adhering to safety standards. Conduct regular, routine inspections of equipment and promptly report any defects or repairs that are needed. Keep thorough, up-to-date records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed. Adhere to all company safety procedures and consistently utilize the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Respond in a timely manner to maintenance requests and emergency breakdown situations as they arise. Work collaboratively with the maintenance team and communicate technical issues accurately to the supervisor. Qualifications: Possess a diploma or technical certificate in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a closely related technical field. Have 2 to 3 years of demonstrable, relevant experience working as an AC/HVAC Technician. Demonstrate strong knowledge of various HVAC systems including split, package, and central systems. Be capable of reading and interpreting basic electrical and mechanical diagrams. Have a sound understanding of refrigerant handling protocols and safety procedures.
