Job Description

The Mobile Crane Operator will work in the Warehouse and Logistics Department at a pipe manufacturing plant in Dammam Second Industrial City and report to the Warehouse Supervisor or Operations Supervisor. The purpose of the role is to safely and efficiently operate a mobile crane for lifting, loading, unloading, and moving pipes, materials, and equipment within the factory while complying with approved safety procedures and crane load limits. Duties include operating the crane for lifting, loading, and unloading activities; safely moving pipes, materials, and equipment to designated locations; conducting a daily pre-operation inspection; checking the brakes, tires, wire ropes, hooks, hydraulic systems, and warning devices; verifying load weights and ensuring they do not exceed the crane’s rated capacity; following the approved load chart and lifting procedures; positioning the crane correctly and properly deploying the outriggers before lifting; ensuring that the lifting area is free from hazards and unauthorized personnel; coordinating with the rigger, banksman, and ground personnel during lifting operations; following approved hand signals and stopping operations when instructions are unclear; immediately stopping lifting if an unsafe condition, malfunction, or hazard is identified; ensuring that no personnel stand or pass beneath suspended loads; maintaining the cleanliness and basic condition of the crane; immediately reporting defects, damage, and maintenance requirements; completing daily inspection checklists and operating records; complying with all health, safety, and environmental procedures; wearing the required personal protective equipment; and performing other related duties assigned by the direct supervisor. Applicants must hold an intermediate or secondary school certificate, a valid heavy-equipment driving licence or mobile crane operator licence, and at least three years of mobile crane operating experience. Third-party crane operator certification is preferred, as is experience in heavy manufacturing, steel, or pipe factories. Candidates must have good knowledge of crane load charts, lifting signals, and safety procedures; be able to conduct daily inspections and identify basic mechanical defects; be physically fit and capable of working in an industrial environment; be willing to work shifts and overtime when required; and have basic English skills sufficient to understand operating and safety instructions. Strong discipline and attendance, a high level of concentration and attention to detail, safety awareness and responsible decision-making, effective communication with the lifting team, the ability to work under pressure and in field conditions, and strict compliance with safety instructions and company procedures are also required.
