Job Description
An experienced Electrical Engineer is required for a permanent full-time position under Location and Employment for an MV Switchgear and RMU Replacement Project in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The project involves the installation and erection of ring main units (RMUs), medium-voltage (MV) panels and switchgear, as well as MV cable works. Key responsibilities include coordinating with the Electrical Design Team to review, complete and finalise electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules and technical documents; coordinating with the Consultant and Client regarding design submissions, technical clarifications, revisions and required approvals; ensuring that approved drawings and designs are properly implemented and executed at the project site; supervising the erection and installation of RMUs, MV panels, switchgear and associated electrical equipment; supervising and coordinating MV cable laying, termination, jointing, testing and commissioning activities; reviewing site conditions and identifying technical issues or design requirements before work is carried out; coordinating with the Consultant regarding site inspections, testing and approval of completed works; ensuring that all installation and erection work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications and applicable standards; coordinating with site teams, subcontractors and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution and progress; preparing and following up on inspection requests (IRs), method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), technical submissions and other project documentation; monitoring the quality and progress of electrical work and resolving technical issues at the site; and maintaining proper documentation while supporting the project team throughout testing, commissioning and project completion. A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 7–10 years of relevant experience in electrical projects are required. Strong experience with RMUs, MV panels, switchgear and MV cable works, including MV panel installation and erection and MV cable termination, jointing, testing and commissioning, is required. Candidates must have good knowledge of electrical drawings, SLDs, cable schedules and site execution, as well as experience coordinating with Consultants and Clients regarding design and technical approvals. Good communication, coordination and site supervision skills are required. Indian candidates are preferred.
