Container Movement Coordinator
Job Description
A full-time Container Movement Coordinator is required in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to join the transportation and logistics team. The successful candidate will coordinate and monitor container movements between ports, terminals, warehouses, and customer locations, ensuring timely delivery and smooth transportation operations. Responsibilities include coordinating daily container pickup and delivery operations; monitoring container movements between ports, terminals, and customer locations; coordinating with drivers, transporters, customers, ports, and shipping lines; tracking and tracing containers to ensure timely pickup and delivery; monitoring container status, including arrival, pickup, gate-out, delivery, and empty return; following up on delivery orders, gate passes, equipment interchange receipts, and other required transportation documents; coordinating with customs clearance and operations teams to ensure smooth cargo movement; monitoring demurrage and detention and highlighting potential additional charges; and handling transportation delays and operational issues while providing timely solutions. Applicants must hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related field and have 1–3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, or container operations. Previous experience in container movement and port transportation is highly preferred. Good knowledge of Saudi port and transportation procedures, familiarity with delivery orders, equipment interchange receipts, gate-in, gate-out, empty return, demurrage, and detention, and good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office are required. Applicants must have a good command of English; knowledge of Arabic and a Saudi driving licence are advantages.
