MEP Draughtsman

A long-term MEP Draughtsman is required in Haradh, with a minimum of five years of GCC experience in the construction industry. The role involves preparing detailed shop drawings, as-built drawings and coordination drawings for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including HVAC ductwork, piping, firefighting, drainage, water supply, power and lighting, using AutoCAD and Revit MEP. The successful candidate will review architectural, structural and MEP consultant drawings, including IFC and tender drawings, and develop detailed installation and fabrication drawings in accordance with project specifications, local authority requirements and Aramco standards. Responsibilities include carrying out 3D coordination and clash detection between MEP disciplines and architectural or structural elements using BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks; preparing equipment layouts, riser diagrams, single-line diagrams, schematic drawings and detailed sections for HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems; preparing builder’s work drawings, sleeve drawings and opening drawings for coordination with civil and structural teams; and converting design-stage drawings into construction-ready shop drawings that incorporate site conditions, RFIs and approved material submittals. The Draughtsman will update drawings based on site instructions, variation orders and consultant comments, maintain accurate revision control and transmittal logs, prepare material take-offs and quantity schedules from drawings to support procurement and BOQ verification, and coordinate with site engineers, project engineers and MEP subcontractors to ensure that drawings reflect actual site conditions and constructability. The role also includes preparing final as-built drawings incorporating all approved site changes for project handover and operation and maintenance documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant international codes and Aramco standards, incorporating review comments from the PMC and owner into shop drawings, maintaining drawing registers, tracking submittal and approval status, and ensuring the timely issuance of drawings in line with project schedules. The candidate will mentor and check the work of junior draughtsmen and CAD technicians to ensure quality and consistency, and support tendering and estimation teams by providing preliminary layouts and take-offs during the bidding stage where required. Applicants must hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent draughting qualification, have proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP and Navisworks, be familiar with GCC authority approval processes, and have a strong understanding of MEP coordination on residential and industrial projects.
