Pipeline Inspector
Job Description
Gulfaar Group is urgently seeking an experienced Pipeline Inspector with Saudi Aramco CBT certification for a major Saudi Aramco Master Gas System and gas pipeline EPC project in Saudi Arabia. The role involves performing inspection and surveillance activities for cross-country gas pipeline construction in accordance with approved project specifications, Inspection and Test Plans, drawings and procedures, and monitoring right-of-way and route preparation, pipe handling, stringing and alignment, fit-up and welding, non-destructive testing, coating and field-joint coating, lowering-in and backfilling, tie-ins and crossings, hydrostatic testing and reinstatement. The inspector will verify compliance with Saudi Aramco standards, project specifications, approved drawings and applicable codes; review and verify welding documentation, WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications and welding inspection records; coordinate and witness non-destructive testing, hydrostatic testing, coating inspections and other required inspection activities; inspect incoming pipes, fittings, valves and associated pipeline materials against approved specifications and documentation; verify material identification, traceability, preservation and storage requirements; review inspection records, test reports, material test certificates, non-destructive testing reports and other quality documentation; raise and follow up on non-conformance reports, observations and corrective actions where required; coordinate with the Contractor, Quality Control, Construction, Engineering and Client or Saudi Aramco inspection teams; monitor compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans and inspection procedures; participate in inspection meetings, site walkdowns, punch-list activities and final handover documentation; and maintain daily inspection reports while providing timely updates on inspection status and outstanding issues. Saudi Aramco CBT certification for Pipeline Inspection is mandatory, along with 5 to 8 years of relevant pipeline inspection experience. Previous experience on Saudi Aramco pipeline or gas pipeline projects is strongly preferred, as is experience with major EPC contractors in oil and gas or pipeline construction. Candidates must have strong knowledge of pipeline construction, welding, non-destructive testing, coating, hydrotesting and pipeline quality assurance and quality control requirements, good knowledge of applicable international codes and standards, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, alignment sheets, specifications and Inspection and Test Plans, and a good understanding of Saudi Aramco inspection procedures and quality requirements. Saudi Council of Engineers registration is preferred or required as applicable to the project, while candidates with valid Saudi Aramco approval or previous Aramco CBT records will be preferred. Immediate availability is highly preferred, and hands-on experience with cross-country pipelines, gas pipelines, Saudi Aramco projects, EPC construction, pipeline welding, non-destructive testing, coating, hydrotesting, tie-ins, quality assurance and quality control, and inspection is particularly sought. - Strong knowledge of pipeline construction, welding, NDT, coating, hydrotesting and pipeline QA/QC requirements.
- Good knowledge of applicable international codes and standards relevant to pipeline construction.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, alignment sheets, specifications and ITPs.
- Good understanding of Saudi Aramco inspection procedures and quality requirements.
- Saudi Council of Engineers registration preferred or required as applicable to the project.
- Valid Saudi Aramco approval or previous Aramco CBT records preferred.
- Hands-on experience with cross-country pipelines, gas pipelines, Saudi Aramco projects, EPC construction, pipeline welding, NDT, coating, hydrotesting, tie-ins, QA/QC and inspection.
