Radio Shuttle Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The purpose of the job is to maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair Radio Shuttle systems and related warehouse equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous warehouse operations. Key responsibilities include performing regular inspections and preventive maintenance of Radio Shuttle systems, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control-system problems, repairing or replacing damaged or faulty components when required, and testing Radio Shuttle equipment after maintenance to ensure proper operation. The technician must respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime, maintain maintenance records, checklists, and repair reports, follow preventive maintenance schedules and procedures, and ensure that all maintenance work is completed safely and correctly. The role also requires coordination with warehouse and operations teams during maintenance activities, keeping tools, spare parts, and work areas organised, reporting major faults, recurring problems, and spare-parts requirements to the supervisor, following company health, safety, and environmental policies, using the required personal protective equipment, and supporting other maintenance activities when required. Qualifications include a diploma or technical certificate in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or a related field, basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills, and the ability to read simple technical drawings and manuals. Previous experience with warehouse automation or Radio Shuttle systems is preferred. The position requires troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, basic electrical and mechanical skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, good communication skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a warehouse and industrial environment. Performance is measured by Radio Shuttle equipment availability, preventive-maintenance completion rate, equipment-breakdown response time, equipment downtime, repeat-breakdown rate, compliance with safety procedures, and the accuracy and completion of maintenance records.
