Firefighting Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Firefighting Maintenance Technician with six years of experience in firefighting system maintenance and a Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or a related field. The key responsibilities include performing scheduled preventive maintenance and regular inspections of firefighting systems, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, hydrants, hose reels, landing valves, and fire extinguishers; troubleshooting and repairing issues in system components to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards; conducting functional tests of jockey, main, and diesel pumps, valves, flow switches, and pressure systems; replacing worn or defective parts while minimising system downtime; maintaining accurate service and inspection records in accordance with company and Civil Defense requirements; ensuring that maintenance activities comply with NFPA standards and local regulations; supporting site teams during Civil Defense inspections and third-party audits; assisting with the installation, commissioning, and modification of firefighting systems under supervision; and strictly following site safety policies and the proper use of personal protective equipment. The qualifications include six years of experience in firefighting system maintenance and a Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or a related field. Firefighting system training or certification is preferred. Candidates must have a good understanding of NFPA standards and Saudi Civil Defense requirements, experience working with various firefighting equipment brands and configurations, solid knowledge of firefighting systems and mechanical components, hands-on experience with pumps, valves, and pressurised pipe networks, the ability to read system schematics, piping diagrams, and operation and maintenance manuals, good documentation and reporting skills, a commitment to safety and quality standards, the ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team, and strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills under pressure.
