Job Title: Mechanical Designer Job Summary: We are currently looking to hire a highly skilled and detail-focused Mechanical Designer to become an integral member of our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and development of precise mechanical designs, drawings, and three-dimensional models employing CAD software. This role requires strict adherence to industry standards, project specifications, and safety protocols throughout the design process. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Develop comprehensive and detailed two-dimensional drawings and three-dimensional models for mechanical components, assemblies, and complete systems. • Work closely with engineers and various project team members to transform conceptual ideas into designs that are feasible and ready for manufacturing. • Conduct necessary design calculations, including those related to strength, load, and tolerance, and prepare the required technical documentation supporting these calculations. • Review existing designs and implement modifications aimed at enhancing functionality, improving overall performance, and increasing cost efficiency. • Ensure that all mechanical designs strictly comply with applicable international standards, regulatory codes, and specific client requirements. • Coordinate effectively with fabrication and production teams to promptly address and resolve any design-related challenges or issues that arise during manufacturing. • Generate detailed bills of materials (BOM) and provide assistance in the formulation of procurement specifications to facilitate sourcing. • Participate actively in design review meetings and integrate feedback into the finalized deliverables to ensure quality and completeness. ________________________________________ Qualifications & Skills: • Possession of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or other similar platforms for mechanical design. • Solid knowledge of mechanical design standards and a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles. • A deep comprehension of materials science, manufacturing methodologies, and fabrication techniques relevant to mechanical design. • Capability to accurately read, interpret, and utilize engineering drawings and various technical documents. • Excellent problem-solving abilities, coupled with meticulous attention to detail to ensure high-quality output. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. ________________________________________ Preferred Experience: • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design or drafting roles. • Proven experience in designing Trailers, Structural Steel frameworks, Cranes, and Steel Fabrication processes applicable to relevant industry sectors. • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools will be regarded as an advantageous asset for this position.
Requirements
