Welding QC Inspector
Job Description
A full-time Welding QC Inspector is required for a long-term project in Fadhili, and only Indian nationals are eligible. The role involves verifying incoming pipes, fittings, flanges, and consumables against Mill Test Certificates, heat numbers, and Positive Material Identification requirements; inspecting joint preparation, root gaps, bevel angles, high-low or mismatch, and cleanliness before welding begins; ensuring that welders are qualified through the appropriate WPQ or WQT for the specific position and process; and confirming that welding parameters, including current, voltage, travel speed, and preheat and interpass temperatures, comply with the approved Welding Procedure Specification. The inspector will monitor multipass welding sequences and interpass cleaning, conduct visual inspections of completed welds for surface defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, or incorrect profile dimensions using standard tools such as cam gauges, coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing activities including Radiography and Ultrasonic Testing, review welding and NDT inspection reports, monitor Post-Weld Heat Treatment charts, issue Non-Conformance Reports for rejected work, oversee repair procedures, and maintain accurate weld maps, logs, and turnover documentation packages.

- Ability to verify material documentation, welder qualifications and welding parameters
- Ability to perform fit-up, alignment and visual weld inspections using standard tools such as cam gauges
- Ability to coordinate NDT activities and review welding and NDT inspection reports
- Ability to monitor PWHT, oversee repairs and maintain weld maps, logs and turnover documentation
