Procurement Engineer – MEP Location: Saudi Arabia Company: Jazal Arabia Engineering Contracting Company Job Summary: Jazal Arabia Engineering Contracting Company is actively looking for a skilled and experienced Procurement Engineer specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to join our professional team. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the procurement process of MEP materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for construction and civil fit-out projects. This role demands ensuring that all procured items meet stringent quality standards while maintaining cost-effectiveness and meeting established project timelines for delivery. Key Responsibilities: - Execute procurement activities for all MEP materials, equipment, and services strictly adhering to the project’s technical specifications and schedules. - Solicit and obtain competitive quotations from approved suppliers and subcontractors, subsequently preparing detailed comparative statements to facilitate informed decision-making. - Conduct negotiations concerning pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to secure the most advantageous commercial terms for the company. - Collaborate closely with project managers, design engineers, and the planning team to guarantee the timely availability of all required materials on site. - Prepare, issue, and follow up on purchase orders, continually monitoring the procurement process until the successful delivery of materials and equipment. - Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers for qualification purposes while fostering and maintaining strong professional relationships with existing vendors. - Ensure that all procured materials and equipment fully comply with defined project specifications and the highest quality standards. - Coordinate with warehouse and on-site teams concerning material deliveries, inspections, and inventory management to streamline project operations. - Maintain accurate and comprehensive procurement records, including supplier databases and all relevant documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance. - Contribute to cost-saving initiatives through effective sourcing strategies and value engineering practices that enhance project profitability without compromising quality. - Adhere strictly to company procurement policies, guidelines, and project-specific requirements to ensure procurement activities are legally and ethically compliant. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is mandatory. - Minimum of five years of demonstrable experience in MEP procurement within construction or civil fit-out projects. - In-depth understanding and knowledge of MEP materials, suppliers, and the local market dynamics within Saudi Arabia or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. - Hands-on experience procuring HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical, and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. - Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills are essential to succeed in this role. - Possession of a valid Saudi Arabian driving license is preferred to facilitate site visits and supplier meetings. Preferred Qualifications: - Prior experience working on commercial, retail, hospital, or civil fit-out projects is highly desirable. - Candidates who are available for immediate joining will be given preference during the selection process.
