Responsibilities include performing routine preventive maintenance on production machinery, conveyors, and mechanical systems; diagnosing mechanical failures, identifying their root causes, and carrying out timely repairs to minimise downtime; installing, assembling, and aligning new mechanical equipment and machine components; inspecting, repairing, or replacing pumps, valves, bearings, gearboxes, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems; working closely with production operators to troubleshoot operational issues on the production line; strictly complying with safety standards, using personal protective equipment properly, and following lockout and tagout procedures; and maintaining clear records of maintenance activities, completed repairs, and spare-parts inventory. The qualifications and requirements include a diploma or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical certification, along with two to three years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission is required, as is proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and user manuals. Applicants must be skilled in using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and basic workshop tools, physically capable of standing for long shifts, lifting equipment, and performing manual tasks in a factory environment, and able to commit to the 10-hour daily work schedule.
