Electrical Technician, Power Engineer

Freelance MEP staff are required to join an electrical engineering and testing team in Saudi Arabia. The positions are for an Electrical Technician responsible for testing and commissioning low- and medium-voltage substations, and a Power Engineer or Electrical Technician for low- and medium-voltage substations. The job description covers the following key responsibilities for the Testing and Commissioning team: perform testing and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage substations, conduct MVSG testing and commissioning activities, perform low-voltage panel testing and functional checks, check control and protection schemes, identify conflicts between system requirements, engineering designs and installed systems, review engineering drawings, diagrams and equipment ratings, and prepare, review and modify electrical documents and drawings, including single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and control and wiring diagrams. The roles also require close coordination with other engineering disciplines and site teams, effective communication and coordination of project activities with project managers, engineers, clients and consultants, and support for troubleshooting, inspection, testing and commissioning activities at site. Candidates must have experience in low- and medium-voltage power systems and substations, practical experience in testing and commissioning, knowledge of electrical protection, control systems and low- and medium-voltage switchgear, the ability to read and understand electrical drawings and engineering diagrams, strong communication and coordination skills, a professional and positive attitude, the ability to learn quickly, good English communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a professional engineering team.
