Job Description
Al Masharef Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a qualified Accountant to support its accounting and financial operations. The successful candidate must have proven experience in the healthcare or hospital sector, must be currently based in Riyadh, and must be available to join immediately. A good command of English is required. The Accountant will maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions; record and process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions; prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation; perform bank, vendor, customer, and general ledger reconciliations; prepare monthly financial reports and accounting schedules; monitor revenues, expenses, receivables, and payables; assist with month-end and year-end closing activities; prepare and maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable aging reports; monitor outstanding balances and follow up on receivables and payables; review invoices, payment requests, and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness; assist with hospital revenue and expense reconciliation; coordinate with billing, insurance, Human Resources, procurement, and other departments to verify financial information; support the reconciliation of insurance and healthcare-related revenues and payments; assist in monitoring hospital-related expenses and departmental costs; prepare financial and accounting reports as requested by management; identify discrepancies, errors, and unusual transactions and assist in resolving them; maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records; assist with audits and provide the required financial documents and information; ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations; maintain the confidentiality of financial and organizational information; and perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and have at least two years of experience as an Accountant or in a similar accounting role, with mandatory experience in a hospital, healthcare organization, medical center, or healthcare-related company. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger transactions, reconciliations, healthcare or hospital accounting and financial operations, revenues, expenses, accruals, and financial transactions is required. Experience preparing financial reports and supporting month-end closing is required, while experience with ERP or accounting systems is preferred. Experience with healthcare revenues, insurance transactions, or medical billing reconciliation is an advantage. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis, is required, together with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. The role also requires strong accounting, numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent attention to detail and accuracy; good communication and interpersonal skills; strong organizational and time-management skills; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment; a high level of integrity and confidentiality; good English communication skills; and the ability to handle sensitive financial and organizational information professionally.
