Job Description
Job overview: We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our engineering team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and coordination of fire protection systems for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Water, Infrastructure, Commercial, and Residential projects. Responsibilities include leading fire protection engineering activities on assigned projects; conducting site surveys and assessments of existing facilities; developing fire protection system layouts, calculations, and design packages; preparing hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and material selections; coordinating designs with other engineering disciplines; preparing technical specifications, engineering reports, and cost estimates; reviewing vendor documents, material submittals, and shop drawings; conducting site visits to inspect construction and installation activities; providing technical support during construction and commissioning; mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development within the team; assisting in maintaining engineering standards, procedures, and best practices; and staying updated on industry codes, standards, and technological advancements. Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, have a minimum of 10 years of fire protection engineering design experience, and hold a Professional Engineering License, Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent certification from their country of origin. Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Water, or industrial projects is highly preferred, along with strong knowledge of international fire protection codes and standards. Candidates should have experience with NFPA Codes and Standards, fire water systems, fire alarm and detection systems, sprinkler systems, foam systems, hydrant systems, deluge systems, and clean agent systems, as well as knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC), API, FM Global, and UL Standards. Strong communication and technical report-writing skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, the ability to lead projects and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, effective planning, organisation, and time-management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software applications, and the ability to mentor junior engineers and support technical development are required.
