Architect
Job Description
We are seeking an architect to perform architecture duties, including developing and designing architectural solutions and plans for buildings and properties while ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations. The role includes reviewing and approving construction drawings and plans, supervising the construction process to ensure adherence to design specifications, and using the AutoCAD/2D program proficiently to create and modify architectural designs, plans, and layouts. The architect will prepare detailed drawings and blueprints for construction projects and collaborate with other engineers and architects to develop design concepts, solutions, comprehensive project cost estimates, bid specifications, and evaluation criteria. Responsibilities also include preparing and estimating the bills of quantities and costs of materials, labour, and equipment required for construction projects; reviewing and evaluating bids from vendors and contractors; estimating total project costs; analysing project costs and recommending ways to optimise resources and minimise expenses; evaluating contractor and vendor bids based on cost, quality, and efficiency; and reviewing vendor and contractor qualifications and performance history. A minimum of 10 years of experience is required, including proven experience in managing and overseeing construction projects, strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
