Welding work must be completed efficiently while meeting the required quality benchmarks and maintaining full compliance with the construction codes of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the company’s safety policies. The role involves precise pipe fitting and welding in the 6G position, with careful attention to alignment, weld quality, penetration, and structural integrity. The successful candidate will coordinate closely with site engineers, supervisors, fitters, and other trades to ensure that welding activities are completed according to the project schedule without compromising safety, quality, or the integrity of the work. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out ARC welding operations in full compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, welding procedures, and project requirements. Perform high-quality pipe and structural welding in the 6G position as required by the project. Accurately prepare pipes and steel components before welding, including cutting, bevelling, aligning, and fitting workpieces for the welding process. Carefully inspect welded joints to verify weld quality, penetration, alignment, and the presence of any defects, and take corrective action when required. Select the correct welding machines, electrodes, tools, and consumables for each assigned task and ensure that all equipment is properly set up before use. Systematically perform welding passes, including the root pass, hot pass, fill pass, and cap pass, in line with approved welding procedures and project specifications. Maintain a safe working environment by following all site safety procedures and consistently using the required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of welding work, including inspection reports, weld identification records, and daily progress logs. Monitor welding electrodes, consumables, and materials to reduce wastage and report any shortages, defects, or material issues to the relevant personnel. Carry out visual inspections of completed welds and assist with the preparation and coordination of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and other inspection activities whenever required. Provide guidance and technical support to junior welders and helpers, encourage safe working practices, and support the development of welding skills on site. Ensure full compliance with KSA building codes, project specifications, company quality standards, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements, and applicable environmental regulations. QUALIFICATIONS A Higher Secondary School Certificate is required as the minimum educational qualification. A Technical Diploma or professional certification in ARC / 6G welding is required. A valid 6G Welding Qualification Certificate is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage. Experience in pipe welding is preferred. Experience working effectively under demanding and challenging site conditions is preferred. COMPETENCIES Strong proficiency in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) / ARC welding techniques, particularly welding in the 6G pipe welding position. Ability to perform root, fill, and cap passes with correct weld penetration and consistent weld quality. Ability to accurately read, interpret, and understand technical drawings, welding symbols, and detailed specifications. Good knowledge of welding procedures, electrode selection, consumable usage, and basic welding inspection requirements. Familiarity with KSA construction codes, project quality standards, and relevant safety regulations. Strong attention to detail, precision, and accuracy in all welding and fabrication activities. Ability to work effectively within a team environment and follow instructions carefully and consistently. Physical endurance to perform duties at heights, inside confined spaces, and under challenging site conditions.
