Electrical Engineer
Job Description
A full-time Electrical Engineer is required in Khobar, and applicants from South India are welcome. Key responsibilities include selecting electrical cables and transformers and designing main distribution boards, distribution boards, and low-current systems; designing, developing, and testing electrical equipment and systems with a focus on safety, efficiency, and reliability; analysing electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and requirements for adjustment or repair while ensuring compliance with applicable codes; directing and coordinating manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and operational requirements; performing detailed engineering calculations to establish standards and specifications; using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment; preparing purchasing specifications for electrical equipment and materials; supervising or training project team members when necessary; and working closely with senior engineers, project managers, the maintenance team, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of maintenance activities and new projects within scope, schedule, and budget constraints. The role is responsible for electrical maintenance activities and compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements, and includes leading technicians in daily electrical maintenance activities; troubleshooting 13.8 kV medium-voltage and low-voltage incoming systems, switchgear, and motor control centres; maintaining motor control centres, building management systems, and automation control systems; assisting in coordinating contractors and plant personnel to facilitate process and equipment improvements involving automation and electrical work across multiple plant locations; establishing and managing vendor coordination for the supply of electrical goods, including quality assurance and quality control approvals and qualifications; supporting capital expenditure management by ensuring that projects remain within approved guidelines and reporting discrepancies to the direct manager; working closely with plant maintenance departments and providing technical support for troubleshooting, upgrades, and installations related to process improvements, safety upgrades, and the operation of electromechanical and automation systems within the plant; preparing detailed technical drawings, project scopes, and reports using AutoCAD and other software tools; updating electrical control circuit drawings and related technical documentation; facilitating clear and timely communication at all organisational levels, including with plant management, department heads, and external vendors; assisting in identifying and resolving technical challenges affecting plant operations and performing root-cause analysis when required; and ensuring that all activities comply with corporate safety initiatives, quality standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience are required. The candidate must have basic knowledge of building management systems, BMS programming, and variable-frequency drives; familiarity with IT networking components, including servers, virtual machines, and data communications; hands-on experience with medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems; and the ability to read, write, and understand electrical schematics. Competency in AutoCAD 2016 or a later version is required for developing electrical schematics, power distribution layouts, and wiring diagrams, as is proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for project tracking and reporting. Fluency in English is required, along with strong leadership skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues and prioritise tasks effectively, as well as strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
