QC Mechanical Inspector – Vendor Inspection Division (VID) Position Title: QC Mechanical Inspector (VID / Source Inspection) Location: Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia Industry Sector: Third-Party Inspection (TPI) / Vendor Inspection Role Overview: The company is seeking a skilled and experienced QC Mechanical Inspector for Vendor Inspection Division (VID) and source inspection assignments. The role involves carrying out vendor shop surveillance and source inspection activities across different manufacturing facilities. The selected inspector will represent the client for quality matters and will verify that vendor operations comply with Saudi Aramco VID requirements. Inspection coverage will include quality monitoring from initial material verification through manufacturing, testing, final documentation review, product release, packing, and shipping authorization. Key Responsibilities: Act as the third-party inspection representative at vendor premises. Lead or participate in Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM) with vendors and relevant project parties. Review purchase orders, Saudi Aramco inspection assignment packages, and related inspection requirements during PIM activities. Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to define the required inspection stages and inspection activities. Perform detailed shop-floor surveillance at vendor facilities. Conduct witnessed inspections and mandatory hold-point inspections in accordance with Saudi Aramco VID procedures. Ensure inspection activities follow SA-175 documentation requirements and applicable project specifications. Review and validate vendor fabrication documentation before manufacturing starts. Check Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ), and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures for compliance with required standards. Carry out incoming raw material source inspections. Validate Mill Test Certificates (MTCs), confirm material traceability, verify heat numbers, and approve Positive Material Identification (PMI) results. Ensure raw materials comply with applicable ASME and ASTM standards. Witness and monitor critical vendor welding activities, assembly fitting work, and dimensional verification. Witness and review Non-Destructive Testing activities, including visual inspection, Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Radiographic Testing (RT) film interpretation. Verify that workmanship, fabrication, testing, and inspection results meet the required quality standards. Supervise final acceptance testing activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), hydrostatic pressure testing, and pneumatic pressure testing. Evaluate surface preparation and coating inspection activities to confirm final product readiness. Identify non-conforming practices, quality deviations, and inspection concerns. Issue Inspection Deviation Notices (IDNs) or Vendor Non-Conformance Reports (VNCRs) where required. Follow up on corrective actions and verify effective implementation before allowing further manufacturing progress. Review and endorse the completed Manufacturer Data Book (MDB) or vendor quality dossier. Confirm that all vendor quality documentation is complete, accurate, and properly compiled. Issue the official Inspection Release Note (IRN) for materials or equipment that have been verified as compliant. Authorize packing and shipping only after successful completion of required inspections and documentation review. Prepare and submit detailed VID inspection reports supported with suitable photographic evidence for transparency and accountability. Candidate Requirements: The candidate must hold valid Saudi Aramco Vendor Inspection Division (VID) approval. QM-07 qualification is the minimum mandatory Saudi Aramco approval requirement. Additional mechanical quality management (QM) commodity endorsements will be considered a strong advantage. A Bachelor’s Degree or a 3-Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline is required. Candidates must have at least 7 years of comprehensive quality inspection experience. The required experience must include strong exposure to source inspection and vendor shop inspection. Experience should be within Saudi Aramco projects or other major energy sector projects. A Certified Welding Inspector certification is mandatory, such as CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI. Additional ASNT / NDT Level II certifications in RT, UT, MT, and PT are preferred. Practical and proven knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards is required. Knowledge of applicable ASME and API manufacturing and testing codes is required. Strong vendor management ability is essential. The candidate must be able to prepare objective, detailed, and technically accurate inspection reports. Proficiency in auditing vendor documentation is highly important. Candidates currently residing in Saudi Arabia, preferably in the Eastern Province, with transferable residency status and immediate availability will receive priority consideration.
