Job Description
The job description for the Housekeeper position is to carry out professional daily routine cleaning and scheduled deep cleaning of villas, apartments, short-stay aparthotel units, fitness and recreational facilities, food and beverage outlets, back-of-house areas and facilities, underground parking garages, and common and circulation areas. The Housekeeper will also periodically perform groundskeeping and other janitorial tasks as requested by the housekeeping and grounds team leaders and supervisor. Responsibilities include sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, wet mopping, scrubbing, buffing and burnishing floors, with particular attention to tile grouting; steam cleaning upholstered furniture, sheers, curtains and rugs; dust mopping and sponge washing different types of wall finishes, with particular attention to smudges and dirt marks; washing and disinfecting wash basins, shower stalls, bathtubs, toilets, kitchen countertops and appliances; dust-wiping furniture, light fixtures and furnishings, applying a solution of water and detergent and wiping with a cleaning cloth as required; dust-wiping fixtures and equipment such as air-conditioning vent grilles, fire extinguishers, electrical boxes, hand-disinfectant dispensers and water coolers, using a solution of water and detergent and a cleaning cloth as required; cleaning windows, mirrors and television screens with glass-cleaning detergent and an appropriate clean cloth or squeegee; placing or replacing waste-bin liners as required; preparing dirty bed linen and towels for collection and laundering; spraying the appropriate amount of air freshener as demonstrated by the team leader or supervisor; watering indoor plants according to schedule; conducting weekly cleaning of fire extinguishers, alarms and entrance doors; and performing any other reasonable tasks required by the company. The requirements for this position include at least two years of experience as a Housekeeper, preferably in a four- to five-star hotel, gated residential community, compound, medium- to high-rise apartment complex, shopping mall, office complex or private hospital. The role requires the ability to work at height on aerial lifts, speak English, work outside business hours, on weekends and during holidays when required by operations, and work responsibly without supervision, along with attention to detail, good grooming standards and a professional appearance. A valid, transferable Iqama is required.
