HVAC & MEP Project Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time HVAC and MEP Project Engineer who will report to the Operations Manager and lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of HVAC and MEP projects while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, budget, contractual requirements, and client satisfaction. The role involves leading projects from mobilization through handover; preparing project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocations; monitoring project progress and billing against approved baseline schedules; coordinating with clients, consultants, and subcontractors; supervising HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, fire alarm, electrical, ELV, fabrication, and mechanical installations; monitoring daily site activities and manpower productivity; resolving technical and operational site issues; ensuring compliance with approved shop drawings, specifications, local codes, international standards, and project QA/QC procedures; conducting regular site inspections and inspections before consultant or client inspections; reviewing engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, material submittals, method statements, and risk assessments; coordinating design clarifications with consultants; ensuring that testing and commissioning activities are properly executed; enforcing company HSE policies, ensuring toolbox talks are conducted, and promoting a zero-incident safety culture. The Project Engineer will coordinate material requirements with procurement, review the technical compliance of materials, monitor delivery schedules, and ensure proper storage and handling at site; attend progress meetings with clients and consultants; present project status reports; resolve client technical concerns; maintain excellent customer relationships; lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities; ensure successful performance testing; manage final inspections and project handover; and promote teamwork and continuous improvement. The role also includes preparing daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and resource utilization reports, maintaining project documentation and records, and identifying project risks. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with OSHA or NEBOSH certification considered an advantage, and must be registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers as a Mechanical Engineer; technology qualifications are not accepted. A minimum of five years of experience in HVAC and MEP projects in Saudi Arabia is required, with experience in industrial, commercial, healthcare, infrastructure, or oil and gas projects, and Saudi Arabia project experience is desired. Required technical skills include HVAC systems, MEP systems, chilled water systems, ducting and ventilation, firefighting systems, testing and commissioning, project planning, and AutoCAD and/or Revit. Key performance indicators are project progress delivery, including time, budget, and quality, weighted at 50%; cost control and profitability, 30%; client satisfaction, 10%; HSE compliance, 5%; and planning, reporting, and coordination, 5%.
