Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities: - Contribute decisively to driving strong profit growth for the company on an annual basis, ensuring continual financial improvement and sustainability. - Take responsibility for making significant contributions toward the development, implementation, and management of corporate-wide policies and overarching business objectives. - Oversee the effective maintenance and precise reporting of all financial records. Continually seek to enhance reporting capabilities by leveraging software solutions, identifying existing gaps in processes, and performing thorough accounting and financial analyses. - Manage the preparation and compilation of budgets as well as financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring adherence to stipulated timelines. Additionally, prepare other financial documents and statements as requested by management. - Coordinate and ensure the timely completion of both internal and external audits of the Company’s financial statements, working closely with professional auditing bodies to maintain compliance and transparency. - Assume full responsibility for the daily operations of the Company’s accounting and financial functions. This includes developing, recommending, and implementing necessary interval accounting and financial controls and programs designed to preserve corporate assets and facilitate growth. - Establish, maintain, and continuously refine a comprehensive accounting system, ensuring all related reports are accurately prepared, up-to-date, and reflective of the company’s financial status. - Provide leadership and direction for the budgeting process, including budgetary control and preparation of rolling estimates, fostering proactive financial management. - Drive the automation of reports and reporting processes through system enhancements, striving for minimal manual intervention to increase efficiency and data accuracy. - Streamline margin analysis and pricing decision-making processes by effectively integrating software solutions, thereby reducing the time spent on these critical business functions. - Oversee the preparation and timely submission of all statutory filings required by various Government Ministries, including but not limited to renewals of Commercial Registrations (CRs) and Duty Exemption applications, ensuring full legal compliance. - Implement and ensure that all accounting systems and processes are secure and free from dishonest or fraudulent activities, both within accounting functions and in inter-departmental interactions. - Maintain balanced workloads and clear delineation of responsibilities within the accounting department to facilitate smooth operations aligned with business requirements. - Identify any deficiencies or lapses in internal controls and take proactive measures to address these gaps, safeguarding the company’s financial integrity. - Develop, direct, and uphold effective accounts receivable policies and ensure robust controls over cash handling and banking activities, minimizing financial risk. - Establish and supervise strong controls over accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and accountability in financial transactions. - Manage the company’s insurance coverage to provide optimal risk protection while securing competitive premium rates. - Provide well-informed recommendations to Top Management aimed at enhancing profitability and overall company performance. - Demand accountability and provide clear guidance to other senior management team members to achieve optimal results and maximize attainment of company targets, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs). - Advise Top Management on capital investment decisions and overall company performance strategies, focusing on maximizing profit potential through the most efficient use of available resources. - Ensure that all product costing information is current and accurate by performing cross-checks on batches, Bills of Materials (BOMs), resin blends, machine speeds, electricity consumption, and overhead expenses, comparing actual figures with system data. - Guarantee that all accounting processes embedded in the software and associated workflow processes are accurate, effective, and appropriate, fully aligned with the company’s financial management requirements. - Drive the implementation of cost-effective systems and efficient computing operations, emphasizing automation to support rapid and informed decision-making now and in the future. Where reporting automation does not currently exist, proactively lead initiatives to establish such solutions. - Conduct detailed analyses of business functions and management needs to identify innovative and more effective information solutions. Provide recommendations to Top Management regarding hardware and software acquisitions whenever necessary to enhance operational efficiency. - Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with the company’s banking partners to support financial operations and strategic initiatives. - Provide effective supervision and leadership to assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance and the streamlining of departmental activities for maximum productivity. Qualifications: - Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance, with professional certification such as CPA or Chartered Accountant. - Open to both male and female candidates. - Possess a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role, with preference given to candidates who have worked within a manufacturing organization. - Demonstrate comprehensive technical expertise in all financial and accounting aspects, including thorough knowledge of IFRS and consistent updates in line with the latest regulatory changes. - Exhibit a high level of technical proficiency and possess excellent understanding of financial management, costing, and accounting principles. - Possess analytical skills that exceed average expectations, enabling detailed and insightful financial assessments. - Display strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills essential for addressing complex business challenges. - Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating with diverse teams and conveying information clearly and professionally.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance (CPA/Chartered Accountant preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a manufacturing organization
- Technical expertise in finance and accounts including IFRS and updates on regulations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proficient in financial management and costing areas
- Experience in financial software automation and system improvements
