Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Project Planning Engineer to join our construction team in Bahrain. The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination with project and site teams to ensure projects are completed within approved timelines. The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of Primavera P6, construction scheduling, project controls, critical path analysis, progress tracking, and recovery planning. Key Responsibilities - Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction project schedules using Primavera P6. - Prepare baseline programs, master schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), milestones, and detailed work programs. - Develop short-term and look-ahead schedules in coordination with site teams. - Monitor actual project progress against approved baseline schedules. - Collect and verify daily and weekly progress information from site teams. - Identify delays, critical activities, schedule risks, and potential project slippage. - Perform planned-versus-actual progress analysis and recommend corrective actions. - Conduct critical path and float analysis to identify activities affecting project completion. - Prepare recovery programs and revised schedules when delays occur. - Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly planning and progress reports. - Prepare S-curves, progress tracking reports, manpower reports, and other project-control reports. - Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders. - Monitor subcontractor schedules and ensure their activities are aligned with the overall project program. - Track manpower, materials, equipment, procurement, and construction activities against project requirements. - Assist in delay analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, and claims-related documentation. - Attend project progress and coordination meetings and provide planning updates. - Maintain accurate records of project schedules, progress updates, revisions, and planning documentation. - Ensure construction activities are properly sequenced and aligned with project milestones. - Identify potential schedule issues in advance and provide practical recommendations to management. Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. - Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the construction industry. - Strong experience in building, civil, commercial, residential, or large-scale construction projects. - Excellent practical knowledge of Primavera P6. - Knowledge of MS Project is an advantage. - Strong understanding of WBS, Critical Path Method (CPM), baseline schedules, critical path, float, and construction sequencing. - Experience in progress monitoring, schedule updating, recovery planning, and delay analysis. - Ability to read and understand construction drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), specifications, and project requirements. - Strong knowledge of construction activities and site execution processes. - Good proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office. - GCC construction experience is preferred; Bahrain construction experience is highly preferred. - Strong analytical, organisational, communication, coordination, and reporting skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. - Must be currently available in Bahrain. - Immediate joiners are strongly preferred. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be a hands-on construction Planning Engineer with practical site experience rather than someone limited to administrative planning. The candidate should be confident in Primavera P6, construction scheduling, progress tracking, critical path analysis, recovery planning, and coordinating with site teams.
