Job Description
Job Summary We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Services Engineer to join our dynamic construction team based in Bahrain. The ideal candidate must possess a solid background in construction and demonstrate practical, hands-on experience in the management and coordination of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) building services. This includes expertise in HVAC systems, electrical works, plumbing installations, drainage solutions, as well as fire protection systems. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing and coordinating all MEP-related activities from the initial stages of installation, through to testing, commissioning, snagging processes, and culminating in the final handover of completed works. Key Responsibilities - Plan, coordinate, and supervise all MEP services activities effectively on construction sites to ensure smooth operations. - Oversee the installation processes of HVAC systems, electrical services, plumbing networks, drainage systems, and firefighting/discharge units. - Review, examine, and interpret all MEP-related drawings including design drawings, shop drawings, technical specifications, and other relevant documentation to ensure accurate understanding and implementation. - Facilitate coordination between MEP services and the various construction disciplines such as civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works to maintain project harmony. - Supervise and monitor the performance of subcontractors, technicians, and site teams, ensuring all work is performed to the required standards. - Conduct frequent and thorough site inspections to assess workmanship quality and compliance with installation standards. - Identify potential technical issues, resolve clashes, and manage coordination challenges on site to avoid delays or rework. - Review and approve material submittals, method statements, requests for information (RFIs), and other technical submissions from relevant parties. - Monitor overall project progress including manpower deployment, material availability, and all other MEP-related activities to maintain schedule adherence. - Coordinate comprehensive testing and commissioning procedures, snagging activities, rectification works, and oversee the final handover to the client. - Liaise and maintain effective communication with consultants, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and project management teams throughout the project lifecycle. - Ensure that all MEP works strictly comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements, as well as applicable regulatory requirements within Bahrain. - Prepare detailed daily and weekly progress reports documenting the status of MEP services and overall site activities. Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MEP Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a closely related engineering field. - A minimum of 3 to 5 years or more of relevant professional experience within MEP construction environments. - Proven strong practical experience in handling MEP works specifically in building construction projects. - Prior experience working on villas, high-rise buildings, residential developments, or commercial buildings is highly desirable. - Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in MEP installation procedures, coordination efforts, as well as testing and commissioning processes. - Ability to accurately read, understand, and interpret MEP and shop drawings and technical specifications. - Experience in supervising subcontractors and managing site-based teams to ensure successful project delivery. - Sound understanding of construction methodologies, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. - Familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and the Microsoft Office suite will be considered an advantage. - Excellent communication skills combined with strong capabilities in coordination, leadership, and problem-solving. - Prior construction experience within Bahrain or the GCC region is highly preferable. - Candidate must currently reside in Bahrain. - Immediate availability for joining the project is highly preferred. Preferred Candidate Preference will be given to candidates who have substantial experience working within Bahrain’s construction sector, specifically those who have been involved in projects encompassing high-rise buildings, large-scale villas, residential communities, or commercial developments. Current MEP job postings in Bahrain tend to prioritize candidates who possess hands-on construction experience, expertise in drawing coordination, effective subcontractor management, and proven skills in testing and commissioning activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MEP Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 5+ years of relevant MEP construction experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in building construction projects.
- Experience with villas, high-rise buildings, residential, or commercial projects preferred.
- Solid knowledge of MEP installation, coordination, testing, and commissioning.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP/shop drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience supervising subcontractors and site teams.
- Good understanding of construction procedures, QA/QC, and HSE requirements.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and MS Office is advantageous.
- Strong communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Bahrain and GCC construction experience preferred.
- Must be currently available in Bahrain.
