Quantity Surveyor, Contracts Manager
Job Description
The Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Manager will manage all quantity surveying, commercial, cost-control, procurement and contractual activities for construction projects, from the tender stage through to the final account. Responsibilities include preparing bills of quantities, performing quantity take-offs, conducting rate analyses, managing tendering activities, evaluating subcontractors, preparing and administering contracts in accordance with FIDIC conditions, preparing interim payment applications, managing payment certification, preparing, assessing and valuing variation orders, managing claims, extensions of time and delay analyses, controlling project costs, monitoring budgets, preparing monthly commercial reports, managing subcontractors and subcontract-related commercial matters, conducting commercial negotiations with clients, consultants and contractors, preparing, negotiating and settling final accounts, and identifying and managing contractual and commercial risks. A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required, along with 5–8 or more years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, good knowledge of bills of quantities, variations, claims, extensions of time, payment certificates and final accounts, excellent Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting skills, and strong negotiation and communication skills are required. Construction experience in the GCC or Bahrain is preferred. Immediate joining is preferred, although the joining date is negotiable.

- 5–8+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong FIDIC contract knowledge.
- GCC/Bahrain construction experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of BOQs, variations, claims, extensions of time, payment certificates and final accounts.
- Excellent Excel and commercial reporting skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
