Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary: ERA Projects is seeking an experienced Construction Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in quantity surveying, estimation, cost control, commercial documentation, and construction projects. Key Responsibilities include preparing accurate quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, cost estimates, and cost plans; reviewing architectural, structural, civil, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and specifications; conducting site measurements and verifying quantities of completed works; monitoring project costs, budgets, material quantities, and wastage; preparing and evaluating interim payment applications, valuations, and progress claims; evaluating variations, change orders, additional works, and site instructions; reviewing subcontractor measurements, quotations, claims, and payment applications; evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations and preparing comparison statements; assisting with tender preparation, procurement, and commercial evaluations; monitoring expenditures and identifying potential cost overruns; preparing monthly cost reports, commercial reports, and cost reconciliations; assisting with the preparation of final accounts and construction claims; maintaining accurate records of measurements, costs, variations, contracts, and payments; and coordinating with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, Accounts, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with 3 to 7 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor or QS Engineer in the construction industry. Strong experience in building and civil construction projects is required, along with excellent knowledge of bills of quantities, quantity take-offs, estimation, costing, valuations, variations, and final accounts; the ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings; good knowledge of construction materials, methods, labour rates, and subcontractor pricing; knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures; proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD, while knowledge of quantity surveying or estimation software is an advantage; and strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, documentation, and communication skills. Bahrain construction experience is a must, and applicants must be locally available in Bahrain. Immediate joiners are strongly preferred. Candidates with experience in villa projects, high-rise buildings, residential or commercial construction, fit-out, civil works, or general contracting will be highly considered.
