Assistant Chef
Job Description
JAS Group W.L.L. (MJS Lounge & Bowling and Haute Health) is seeking an Assistant Chef for a full-time position in Bahrain, reporting to the Head Chef. The role involves preparing high-quality dishes for both MJS Lounge & Bowling and Haute Health, including classic lounge menu items and healthy, well-presented dishes, while maintaining consistent quality and portion sizes. Responsibilities include preparing and cooking dishes according to recipe standards, preparing healthy and balanced dishes with fresh ingredients and proper portioning, assisting the Head Chef with menu planning, recipe development and new dish trials, maintaining consistent taste, presentation and portion control across both kitchens, managing mise en place and preparation lists, rotating stock according to the first-in, first-out method, following food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards at all times, keeping the kitchen clean and organised, and promptly reporting equipment issues.
Requirements

- Visa Status
- Valid Bahrain Work Permit Or Eligibility To Work In Bahrain
- Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience, ideally in both lounge and health-focused cuisine
- Solid knowledge of healthy cooking methods, including grilling, steaming, roasting and low-oil preparation
- Familiarity with international cuisine and modern plating
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage
Restriction / Special Note
- Must be available for flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Must hold a valid Bahrain work permit or be eligible to work in Bahrain
