Audit Associate
Job Description
Join an engagement team working directly with clients to plan and conduct external audits of financial statements and other assurance engagements. The role provides exposure to a range of sectors, including entities regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain, and involves working closely with experienced seniors, managers, and partners. Responsibilities include participating in all phases of audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and completion, under the guidance of senior team members; performing substantive testing and tests of internal controls across areas such as cash, revenue, receivables, inventory, payables, and fixed assets; preparing clear, well-organized working papers in accordance with International Standards on Auditing and the firm’s methodology; reviewing financial statements for compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and, where applicable, the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions standards; assisting with regulatory reporting and compliance reviews under the Central Bank of Bahrain Rulebook and the Bahrain Commercial Companies Law; supporting engagements involving Value Added Tax compliance and other matters related to the National Bureau for Revenue; communicating with client personnel to request documentation, clarify transactions, and build productive working relationships; and helping to draft audit reports, management letters, and recommendations for improving internal controls.

- Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field
- Experience
- 0 – 2 Years
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Pursuing or holding a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or CMA.
- Solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and fundamental auditing principles.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort learning audit software.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and visit client sites across Bahrain.
- Preferred: 0–2 years of experience in external audit, ideally with an auditing firm in the GCC.
- Knowledge of Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) standards or experience auditing Islamic banks or takaful companies is preferred.
- Familiarity with Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) regulations and Bahraini Value Added Tax (VAT) is preferred.
- Experience with audit tools such as CaseWare or 1Audit is preferred.
