Quantity Surveyor
Job Description
The job summary is that we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The key responsibilities include preparing accurate quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, cost estimates, and cost plans; reviewing architectural, structural, civil, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and specifications; conducting site measurements and verifying completed quantities; preparing and evaluating interim payment applications and progress valuations; monitoring project costs, budgets, material quantities, and expenditures; reviewing and comparing subcontractor and supplier quotations; evaluating and pricing variations, change orders, additional works, and site instructions; assisting with tender preparation, procurement, and contract administration; preparing monthly cost reports, commercial reports, and cost reconciliations; assisting with final accounts, claims, and commercial documentation; coordinating with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants; and maintaining accurate records of measurements, contracts, variations, payments, and project costs. The requirements are that applicants hold a bachelor's degree or diploma in quantity surveying, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field and have 3 to 7 years of relevant quantity surveying experience in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of bills of quantities, quantity take-offs, estimation, costing, valuations, variations, and final accounts is required, together with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, good knowledge of construction materials, labour costs, and subcontractor pricing, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying or estimation software. Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and negotiation skills are required. Bahrain or GCC construction experience is preferred, and experience in villa projects, residential buildings, commercial projects, high-rise buildings, fit-out, or general construction will be highly considered. Applicants must currently be available in Bahrain, immediate joiners are strongly preferred, and candidates with a transferable or cancelled visa or valid local status are preferred.
