Construction Purchaser
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Purchaser to join our team in Bahrain. The job description and key responsibilities include sourcing and purchasing construction materials, equipment, tools, and related supplies; identifying and evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, availability, and delivery schedules; obtaining and comparing quotations from multiple suppliers; negotiating prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions; preparing purchase orders and ensuring accurate documentation; coordinating with project, engineering, warehouse, and accounts teams regarding procurement requirements; monitoring purchase orders and following up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries; maintaining good working relationships with local and international suppliers; tracking material prices and market availability to support cost-effective purchasing; verifying materials and quantities against purchase requirements and project specifications; maintaining proper records of quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier information; resolving issues related to delays, shortages, damaged materials, or incorrect deliveries; and ensuring that procurement activities comply with company procedures and project requirements. Applicants must have proven experience as a Purchaser, Procurement Officer, or Buyer within the construction industry, including experience purchasing construction materials, MEP materials, tools, equipment, or building materials. Candidates should have good knowledge of the Bahrain supplier and construction market, strong negotiation and communication skills, the ability to compare quotations and identify cost-effective options, good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, strong organizational and follow-up skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. A good command of English is required, while Arabic is an advantage. Applicants must currently reside in Bahrain, and immediate joiners are strongly preferred.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Purchaser, Procurement Officer, or Buyer in the construction industry.
- Experience purchasing construction materials, MEP materials, tools, equipment, or building materials.
- Good knowledge of the Bahrain supplier and construction market.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to compare quotations and identify cost-effective options.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Good command of English.
- Arabic is an advantage.
