Construction Planning Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Planning Engineer to join our team in Bahrain. The successful candidate will develop, monitor, and update construction schedules and coordinate with project teams to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules, baseline programmes, and project timelines; preparing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), master schedules, and detailed activity programmes; monitoring actual progress against planned progress and identifying delays or schedule variances; preparing daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports; coordinating with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, procurement, and site teams to ensure timely project execution; tracking manpower, materials, equipment, and resource requirements against project schedules; monitoring procurement lead times and subcontractor progress to minimise project delays; identifying potential delays and assisting in the development of recovery and mitigation plans; preparing progress updates, look-ahead schedules, and performance reports; supporting project teams with Extension of Time (EOT), delay analysis, and claims documentation when required; assisting in monitoring project productivity, cost progress, and overall project performance; and ensuring that construction activities are properly sequenced and aligned with project milestones. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and have proven experience as a Planning Engineer in construction projects. Experience in villa, residential, commercial, or high-rise building projects is preferred. Candidates must have strong knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and project controls; proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project; strong knowledge of MS Excel and project reporting; the ability to understand construction drawings, project specifications, and work sequences; knowledge of procurement schedules, subcontractor coordination, and construction workflows; and strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills. Experience in progress monitoring, delay analysis, and EOT or claims support is an advantage, while Bahrain construction experience is preferred. Applicants must be locally available in Bahrain, and immediate joiners are preferred.
