Project Quantity Surveyor
Job Description
We are seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team in Bahrain. The successful candidate will manage project costs, quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, variations, subcontractor payments, and commercial control throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing bills of quantities, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and project budgets; analysing architectural, structural, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings to determine quantities and material requirements; preparing and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations; monitoring project costs, commitments, variations, and expenditure against the approved budget; preparing and reviewing interim payment applications, payment certificates, and final accounts; managing and evaluating variations, claims, and additional works; coordinating with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and suppliers; maintaining accurate records of quantities, costs, contracts, and commercial documentation; assisting with contract administration and ensuring compliance with project requirements; preparing regular cost reports and commercial updates for management; supporting the project team in identifying potential cost savings and commercial risks; conducting site measurements and verifying completed works for payment purposes; and ensuring that all commercial activities are properly documented and tracked.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree Or Diploma In Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Or A Related Field.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor in construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, estimation, costing, variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Good understanding of construction contracts and subcontractor management.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and quantity surveying software or tools.
- Good communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Experience in Bahrain is preferred.
