Job Description

Role Overview We are inviting applications for the position of Quantity Surveyor with a specialist focus on ICT infrastructure, passive networking, and low-voltage ELV installation projects. The selected candidate will oversee all project cost-management activities connected to technical infrastructure works. The role includes accurate material estimation, preparation of Bills of Quantities, supplier procurement coordination, and commercial contract assessment. The main objective is to ensure that ICT, networking, ELV, and related technical projects are delivered within the approved budget, agreed project scope, and required commercial controls. Key Responsibilities • Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate Bills of Quantities for IT infrastructure projects, structured cabling systems, server room construction, and enterprise hardware deployments. • Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation: Carry out comprehensive material take-offs and develop clear cost breakdowns for project materials, equipment, labour, and related technical requirements. • Tender & RFP Analysis: Review and analyse client tender documents, RFP specifications, technical requirements, and scopes of work in order to prepare realistic and feasible project cost estimates. • Tender & RFP Analysis: Prepare competitive commercial proposals for tenders while ensuring that pricing is aligned with the technical scope, project requirements, and expected delivery conditions. • Subcontractor & Supplier Management: Request and obtain competitive quotations from hardware suppliers, cabling subcontractors, and other relevant project vendors. • Subcontractor & Supplier Management: Compare supplier and subcontractor offers in detail, evaluate commercial differences, and negotiate contract terms to secure favourable agreements. • Valuation & Variations: Manage monthly payment applications and ensure that required supporting details are prepared for client billing and vendor payment processes. • Valuation & Variations: Assess and process variation orders, monitor the financial impact of changes, and certify valuations required for project invoicing and supplier payments. • Cost Control & Financial Reporting: Track actual project expenditures against approved budget baselines throughout the project lifecycle. • Cost Control & Financial Reporting: Identify and report budget deviations, monitor project financial performance, and prepare profit-margin forecasts for project management and senior leadership review. Qualifications & Requirements • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. • Experience: A minimum of five years of practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor is required. • Experience: The experience must include exposure to ICT infrastructure, structured cabling systems, ELV systems, or similar MEP technical projects. • Regional Exposure: Experience in Bahrain or the wider GCC region is preferred. • Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to interpret technical floor layouts, cabling schematics, and single-line diagrams is essential. • Technical Proficiency: Candidates must be skilled in Microsoft Excel and specialised cost-estimation software tools. • Contract Knowledge: Strong familiarity with standard GCC construction and IT contract terms is required. • Contract Knowledge: Candidates must understand variation-claim submission procedures and valuation-certification processes. • Location: Candidates are required to be based in Bahrain. • Market Knowledge: Previous exposure to the local ICT and MEP markets is strongly preferred. • Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is required for this position.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
