Yacht Driver

Position A Yacht Driver / Yachtsman is required. Vessel The position involves operating and maintaining a private D42 yacht. Location The position is based in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Role Overview The employer is seeking a highly experienced, responsible, and professionally minded Yachtsman to operate and maintain a private D42 yacht with skill, care, and strong attention to safety. The role requires a dedicated individual with the appropriate qualifications, hands-on experience, and technical understanding to ensure that the vessel is operated safely, handled correctly, and maintained in excellent condition at all times. The selected candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of the yacht, proper vessel handling, passenger comfort, routine inspections, cleanliness, and ensuring the yacht is ready for private trips. Requirements The candidate must possess a valid Bahrain Marine or Navigation Driving Licence that is suitable and appropriate for operating the specified D42 private yacht. The candidate must have proven experience in safely, confidently, and competently handling, operating, and managing yachts or similar boats. Practical expertise in yacht handling is required, including safe docking procedures, proper mooring operations, anchoring, and careful vessel manoeuvring. The candidate must have good knowledge and understanding of Bahrain’s local waters, marine routes, operating conditions, and relevant marine safety procedures. Basic technical knowledge of yacht engines, onboard equipment, vessel systems, and the routine maintenance checks required for safe operation is essential. The candidate must demonstrate a responsible, punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to every aspect of the role and all assigned duties. The candidate must be capable of maintaining the yacht’s cleanliness and ensuring that it remains in pristine, presentable, and proper condition at all times. Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour must be maintained when interacting with the yacht owners, passengers, and any other relevant individuals. Only candidates who are currently based in Bahrain will be considered. Main Duties Operate the yacht safely during private trips while ensuring that passenger comfort, security, and safety are maintained throughout every journey. Carry out thorough pre-departure inspections and checks before each use to ensure that the yacht is ready and suitable for departure. Complete detailed post-return inspections and checks after every trip to confirm the vessel’s condition and identify any issues requiring attention. Continuously monitor fuel levels, water levels, engine condition, and the condition and readiness of all onboard equipment. Manage every aspect of docking operations, anchoring procedures, and mooring activities while maintaining smooth, secure, and controlled vessel handling at all times. Maintain the yacht’s cleanliness, general readiness, and overall presentation, ensuring that it is always clean, presentable, fully operational, and ready for use. Immediately report any mechanical faults, safety concerns, defects, unusual issues, or irregularities identified while operating, checking, or inspecting the yacht. Ensure that all necessary safety equipment is properly inspected, maintained in suitable condition, and readily accessible before every departure. Support the proper ongoing care of the vessel by paying close attention to onboard systems, equipment condition, routine checks, and safe operating practices.
