Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Construction Planning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and project controls, together with practical knowledge of Primavera P6. The role reflects the emphasis commonly seen in current Bahrain job postings on P6 scheduling, baseline programmes, critical-path analysis, progress reporting, and recovery planning. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and updating detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6; preparing baseline programmes, work breakdown structures, milestones, master schedules, and look-ahead schedules; monitoring actual project progress against approved schedules; collecting progress updates from site teams; preparing weekly and monthly reports, progress reports, S-curves, and planning updates; identifying delays, critical activities, schedule risks, and potential project slippage; conducting critical-path and planned-versus-actual progress analyses; preparing recovery schedules; recommending corrective actions for delayed activities; coordinating with Project Managers, Site Engineers, quantity surveyors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers; tracking manpower, materials, equipment, procurement, and subcontractor progress; assisting with delay analysis, extension-of-time documentation, and claims-related planning when required; attending project progress meetings and providing scheduling updates; maintaining accurate planning records; and ensuring that activities are properly sequenced. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field and have three to five years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the construction industry, with strong experience in building, civil, commercial, or residential construction projects. Excellent practical knowledge of Primavera P6 is required, while knowledge of MS Project and advanced MS Excel is an advantage. Candidates should have a good understanding of work breakdown structures, the critical path method, baseline schedules, critical path, float, and construction sequencing, as well as experience in progress monitoring, schedule updates, recovery planning, and delay analysis. They must be able to read and understand construction drawings, bills of quantities, and project specifications and possess strong analytical, communication, coordination, and reporting skills. GCC construction experience is preferred, while Bahrain experience is highly preferred. Candidates must be able to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines, must be locally available in Bahrain, and should be immediate joiners. Candidates with cancelled or transferable visas or valid local status are preferred. Practical site experience is required rather than experience limited to administrative planning, and the ideal candidate should be confident in Primavera P6, construction scheduling, progress tracking, critical-path analysis, recovery planning, and coordination with site teams.
