Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Job Description
Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our Quantity Surveying and Commercial team on construction projects. The successful candidate will assist with quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, site measurements, valuations, variations, procurement coordination, and maintaining accurate commercial records. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quantity take-offs, and cost estimates. - Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings to identify and measure quantities. - Assist with site measurements and verify completed works against drawings and BOQs. - Assist in preparing interim valuations, payment applications, and progress claims. - Review and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. - Assist in preparing quotation comparison sheets and commercial evaluations. - Assist with pricing variations, additional works, and change orders. - Monitor project quantities, material usage, costs, and wastage. - Assist in tracking project budgets, expenditures, and commitments. - Maintain accurate records of BOQs, measurements, quotations, variations, contracts, and payment documents. - Support the preparation of monthly cost and commercial reports. - Assist with subcontractor payment applications and final account preparation. - Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, Accounts, suppliers, and subcontractors. - Assist the senior Quantity Surveyor with tendering, procurement, cost control, and contract administration. - Ensure all QS documentation is properly maintained and updated. Requirements: - Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. - 1–3 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably within the construction industry. - Good understanding of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, measurements, costing, and valuations. - Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP construction drawings and specifications. - Knowledge of construction materials, labour costs, and subcontractor pricing. - Good knowledge of MS Excel; experience with AutoCAD and quantity surveying or estimation software is an advantage. - Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills. - Good communication and coordination skills. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a construction or project team. - Bahrain or GCC construction experience is an advantage. - Must be currently available in Bahrain. - Immediate joiners are strongly preferred. Preferred Candidate: Candidates with previous Bahrain construction experience, practical site exposure, and the ability to join immediately will be given preference.

- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably within the construction industry.
- Good understanding of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, measurements, costing, and valuations.
