Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Planning and Controls Engineer to join our construction team in Bahrain. The successful candidate will develop and maintain project schedules, monitor construction progress, identify delays and risks, and provide effective project controls to ensure that projects are completed within approved timelines and budgets. The role involves developing, maintaining, and updating detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6; preparing baseline programmes, master schedules, work breakdown structures, milestones, look-ahead schedules, and recovery programmes; monitoring actual site progress against approved project schedules; collecting progress updates from project and site teams and updating schedules accordingly; analysing planned versus actual progress and identifying delays, risks, and potential project slippage; performing Critical Path Method analysis and monitoring critical activities, float, and project milestones; preparing daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and clients; monitoring construction sequencing, productivity, procurement activities, and subcontractor progress; coordinating with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement and MEP teams, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders; identifying schedule risks and recommending corrective and preventive actions; preparing recovery schedules and revised programmes when projects fall behind schedule; assisting with delay analysis, Extension of Time matters, and claims-related planning documentation; tracking key project deliverables, resources, manpower, materials, and procurement lead times; maintaining accurate planning records, progress data, schedule updates, and project-control documentation; ensuring that construction activities are properly sequenced and aligned with contractual milestones; and supporting management with planning, forecasting, productivity, and project-performance analysis. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Project Management, or a related field and have three to seven years of experience in construction planning and project controls. Strong experience in building, villa, commercial, residential, or high-rise construction projects and excellent knowledge of Primavera P6 are required. Knowledge of MS Project and advanced MS Excel is advantageous, as is knowledge of earned value management, S-curves, productivity monitoring, and project-performance tracking. Candidates should have a strong understanding of work breakdown structures, Critical Path Method, baseline schedules, critical path, float, and construction sequencing, as well as experience in progress measurement, schedule updating, recovery planning, and delay analysis. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, Extension of Time matters, and claims-related planning support is preferred. Candidates must be able to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, bills of quantities, specifications, and project requirements, and should possess strong analytical, organisational, communication, coordination, and reporting skills. The ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines is required. GCC construction experience is preferred, Bahrain construction experience is highly preferred, and applicants must be currently available in Bahrain. Immediate joiners or candidates available at short notice are preferred. We are looking for a hands-on Construction Planning and Controls Engineer with practical site experience rather than someone limited to administrative planning, who is confident in Primavera P6, construction scheduling, progress tracking, critical path analysis, recovery planning, and coordination with site teams.

- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, EOT, and claims-related planning support is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
- GCC construction experience is preferred.
- Bahrain construction experience is highly preferred.
