Job Description
A business in Bahrain is seeking an experienced full-time tailor currently residing in Bahrain to produce children’s bedding, decorative cushions, pillows, covers and similar fabric products, including custom shapes and designs. The role is not primarily focused on clothing alterations. The selection process includes an interview covering previous experience, sewing knowledge, availability and ability to perform the required work, followed by a practical sewing test to produce a sample star-shaped cushion. Candidates must attend both stages and successfully pass the practical test; passing the interview alone does not guarantee selection.
Requirements
- Previous professional tailoring and sewing experience
- Strong sewing and finishing skills
- Accurate fabric cutting and measurement using dimensions, templates or samples
- Ability to follow shapes or reference designs
- Confident and independent operation of sewing machines
- Ability to produce custom shapes and designs from references
- Straight, consistent stitching and professional finishing
- Ability to insert filling, close cushions neatly and ensure a symmetrical final shape
- Ability to correct mistakes and make adjustments when required
- Clean and organized working practices
- Basic working English to understand instructions, measurements and designs correctly
- Reliable, clean, presentable and committed to full-time work
