Cashier
Job Description
Join a café team in Bahrain’s café and food and beverage industry, where legally permissible. Responsibilities include handling daily cash transactions, card payments, and other payment methods; operating the point-of-sale (POS) system and processing customer orders accurately; greeting customers, taking orders, and providing professional customer service; maintaining accurate cash records and ensuring that the cash drawer balances at the end of each shift; recording daily sales, expenses, and cash movements; preparing daily sales summaries and assisting with basic financial reporting; verifying bills, invoices, and receipts when required; assisting with stock records and monitoring the availability of café products; coordinating with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations; handling customer inquiries and resolving minor complaints professionally; maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the cashier counter; and following company procedures for cash handling, reporting, and customer service.
Requirements
- Full-time availability.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Arabic communication skills are preferred.
- Urdu or Hindi language skills are an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial recordkeeping.
- Good mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to operate a POS system.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Honest, punctual, responsible, and well-organized.
- Customer-oriented and presentable.
- Previous cashier or café experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is an advantage.
- Ability to manage cashier duties independently, maintain accurate daily sales and expense records, communicate confidently with customers, and assist with basic accounting and administrative tasks.
