Job Description
Job Overview: This is a skilled Carpenter and Painter position within the carpentry department, involving the performance of tasks according to project requirements and the instructions of the Manager or Supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities: The Carpenter follows blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine the dimensions and materials required to meet clients’ needs; shapes and cuts materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws; follows established safety rules and regulations while maintaining a safe and clean environment; builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, and wooden fixtures; assembles and fastens materials to create frameworks or props using hand tools, wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue; and removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures before repairing or replacing them with hand tools. The Painter prepares surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint; mixes, matches, and applies paints and other finishes to various surfaces; provides decorative and faux finishes as required by the project; and selects and purchases paint, brushes, and other supplies from vendors.
