Job Description

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Project Controls Planner to join our construction team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, project controls, and reporting, with hands-on knowledge of Primavera P6. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site teams, quantity surveyors (QS), procurement, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure projects are properly planned, monitored, and delivered within the approved schedule. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6. - Prepare baseline programs, master schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), milestones, and detailed activity schedules. - Monitor actual project progress against approved baseline schedules. - Conduct planned vs. actual progress analysis and identify delays or schedule deviations. - Monitor the critical path, float, milestones, and key project activities. - Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, dashboards, and planning reports. - Develop short-term look-ahead schedules and recovery programs. - Identify schedule risks, constraints, and potential delays, and recommend corrective actions. - Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, QS, procurement teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers. - Monitor subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with the overall project program. - Track manpower, materials, procurement activities, equipment, and site progress against project requirements. - Assist in delay analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) documentation, and claims-related planning activities. - Support project forecasting and monitor expected completion dates. - Attend project progress and coordination meetings and provide schedule updates. - Maintain accurate records of schedule revisions, progress updates, reports, and project controls documentation. - Ensure project activities are properly sequenced and aligned with contractual requirements and project milestones. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. - 3–7 years of relevant experience in project planning, scheduling, or project controls within the construction industry. - Strong construction project experience is required. - Bahrain/GCC construction experience is highly preferred. - Strong practical knowledge of Primavera P6 is required. - Knowledge of MS Project and advanced MS Excel is an advantage. - Good understanding of WBS, Critical Path Method (CPM), baseline schedules, critical path monitoring, resource planning, and progress measurement. - Experience with recovery schedules, delay analysis, EOT, and claims support is preferred. - Ability to read and understand construction drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), specifications, and project requirements. - Strong analytical, organisational, communication, and reporting skills. - Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple project stakeholders. - Must be currently available in Bahrain. - Immediate joiners or candidates available on short notice are preferred. Preferred Candidate: The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Project Controls Planner with practical construction experience rather than purely administrative planning experience. Candidates should be confident in Primavera P6, schedule updating, progress tracking, critical-path analysis, reporting, and recovery planning.
