Purchasing Coordinator

Job Overview We are looking for an organized and experienced Purchasing Coordinator – Construction to support the purchasing and procurement activities of our construction projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in construction purchasing, supplier coordination, quotation comparison, purchase orders, and material delivery follow-up. The candidate will coordinate closely with suppliers, site engineers, project managers, stores, accounts, and subcontractors to ensure materials are purchased on time and at competitive prices. Key Responsibilities - Coordinate the complete purchasing process from purchase requisition to delivery. - Source construction materials, MEP materials, tools, equipment, consumables, and general site requirements. - Obtain and compare supplier quotations based on price, quality, availability, and delivery time. - Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs/LPOs), RFQs, and other purchasing documents. - Negotiate with suppliers regarding prices, discounts, payment terms, and delivery schedules. - Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites. - Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, project managers, stores, and accounts regarding material requirements. - Monitor pending orders, delivery schedules, and outstanding procurement requirements. - Verify delivered materials, delivery notes, invoices, and quantities against purchase orders. - Maintain updated supplier databases, quotation records, purchase registers, and delivery trackers. - Assist in resolving issues related to delayed deliveries, shortages, incorrect or damaged materials. - Support invoice verification and supplier reconciliation with the Accounts department. - Maintain accurate procurement documentation and prepare purchasing reports when required. Requirements - 2–4 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably within the construction industry. - Strong knowledge of construction and MEP materials. - Previous experience dealing with Bahrain-based suppliers is highly preferred. - Experience handling quotations, RFQs, POs/LPOs, delivery notes, invoices, and supplier documentation. - Good negotiation, communication, coordination, and follow-up skills. - Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to handle multiple suppliers, purchase orders, and urgent material requirements. - Construction, fit-out, MEP, or building-material supplier experience is an advantage. - Must be currently available in Bahrain. - Immediate joiner is highly preferred. Preferred Candidate Candidates with experience working with construction contractors, MEP companies, fit-out companies, or building material suppliers in Bahrain will be given priority.
