Junior QS Engineer
Job Description
Job Description We are looking for a Junior QS Engineer to join our construction team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of quantity surveying, construction costing, BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and site measurements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement Team, subcontractors, and suppliers to support project cost control and commercial activities. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in preparing quantity take-offs, measurements, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from construction drawings. - Review architectural, structural, civil, and basic MEP drawings to determine quantities. - Assist in preparing cost estimates, material quantities, and project costing. - Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. - Prepare quotation comparison sheets and assist in commercial evaluations. - Conduct site measurements and verify quantities of completed works. - Assist in preparing interim valuations, payment applications, and variation orders. - Monitor material usage, wastage, labor requirements, and project costs. - Maintain accurate records of quantities, measurements, quotations, BOQs, and cost information. - Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding quantities and costs. - Assist Senior QS personnel with contract administration and final account preparation. - Support regular cost reports and project documentation. - Ensure measurements and quantities are accurate and comply with drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. - 0–2 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, construction, estimation, or cost control. - Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge may also be considered. - Basic knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, estimation, and construction measurements. - Ability to read and understand construction drawings. - Good knowledge of MS Excel and AutoCAD. - Knowledge of quantity surveying/estimation software is an advantage. - Strong numerical and analytical skills. - Good attention to detail and accuracy. - Good communication and coordination skills. - Construction or GCC experience is an advantage. - Must be currently available in Bahrain. - Immediate joiners are highly preferred.
